Day 1: Kathgodam to Jhuni Village (8-9 Hours Drive)

Your journey starts early in the morning with a pickup from Kathgodam Railway Station at 6:30 AM. A shared Bolero will take you through scenic mountain roads, passing through beautiful valleys and small villages. By 2:30 PM, you will reach Bharadi, where you will switch to another vehicle for the final drive to Jhuni Village. Upon arrival in the evening, your trek leader will welcome you and guide you to a homestay for dinner and rest. After dinner, there will be a briefing session where your trek leader will explain the route, challenges, and important tips for the trek

Day 2: Trek to Sarmool/Sahastradhara (6 km) and Return to Jhuni

After breakfast, the trek begins at 7:00 AM towards Sarmool, the origin of the Saryu River, and Sahastradhara, which means "a thousand springs". This place is sacred to the locals and offers a peaceful natural setting. The trek takes you through forests, rocky paths, and meadows, offering beautiful views along the way. After exploring and having a packed lunch at the site, you will return to Jhuni by 4:30 PM. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the same homestay.

Day 3: Trek to Pankhu Top (7 km) and Descend to Bajlingdhar (3 km)

Today is the most exciting day of the trek. After an early morning start at 7:00 AM, you will begin the climb to Pankhu Top (3,260 meters), carrying packed lunch. The trail is moderate, passing through lush forests and wide-open meadows. Once at the summit, you will be rewarded with stunning views of Maiktoli (6,803 meters), Devtoli (6,788 meters), and Sunderdhunga Khal (5,300 meters). After spending some time at the top, you will descend 3 km to Bajlingdhar, where you will camp for the night. Enjoy a warm dinner and a peaceful night under the stars.

Day 4: Trek from Bajlingdhar to Khati Village (7 km)

After breakfast, the trek continues downhill to Khati Village (2,210 meters), the largest village in the Pindar Valley. The 7 km descent takes you through forests, streams, and open landscapes, offering a relaxing walk. By midday, you will reach Khati, where you will settle into a homestay and enjoy a freshly cooked lunch. The rest of the day is free to explore village life, interact with locals, and experience the culture of the Himalayan people. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the homestay.

Day 5: Drive from Khati to Kathgodam (8-9 Hours)

After breakfast, you will begin your journey back to Kathgodam. A shared Bolero will take you to Bharadi, where you will transfer to another vehicle for the final stretch. The 8-9 hour drive takes you through beautiful mountain landscapes, reaching Kathgodam by evening. This marks the end of your Pankhu Top Trek, leaving you with unforgettable memories of the Himalayas.
