Dhakuri Trekking Guide About Dhakuri

Nestled in the heart of Uttarakhand, Dhakuri Pass (2,800m) is a hidden treasure that has long been a favorite among trekkers. Back in the 90s, it was a well-known second-day stop for those journeying from Loharkhet, offering a peaceful respite in the lap of nature. The trek to Dhakuri is a delightful experience—gentle trails wind through dense forests, opening up to breathtaking views of the Himalayas.

For those seeking an even higher vantage point, the trek extends to Chiltha Mata Temple Top (3,300m), where you’re rewarded with a mesmerizing 360-degree panorama. On one side, endless rolling mountains and charming villages stretch into the horizon, while on the other, the mighty snow-clad peaks of India and Nepal stand tall.

Unlike the crowded trails of Kedarkantha, Brahmatal, or Triund, Dhakuri remains untouched by mass tourism, making it perfect for those looking for solitude and raw natural beauty. The trek spans about 20 km over 2–3 days, making it accessible to anyone with a basic level of fitness. Whether you're hiking through rhododendron-filled forests in spring, crunching through thick snow in winter, or standing above a sea of clouds during monsoon, every visit to Dhakuri brings a new kind of magic. Plus, with a comfortable guesthouse available, you can rest and soak in the beauty without any rush. If you're searching for a peaceful, offbeat trekking experience away from the crowds, Dhakuri might just be the perfect escape.
