BHIMTAL LOCATION:
Bhimtal is 22 km. from Nainital and 11 Kms. from Bhowali at an altitude of 1370 Mts. The pride of Bhimtal is a beautiful lake that offers magnificent vistas for tourists. The lake is larger than Naini lake. Tourist enjoys here boating in the lake. There is an island amid the lake a restaurant is located atop it. Tourists visit here by boat. The distance of the island from the lakeshore is 91 Mts. There is a 17th-century Bhimeshwar temple complex along the 40 feet high dam. The local bus stand and taxi stand are situated near it. ABOUT NAUKUCHIATAL :
Naukuchiatal is located in the Kumaon Mountains, Naukuchiatal is perhaps the most picturesque lake in Uttaranchal, surrounded by green slopes and oak forests. Naukuchiatal or the ‘nine-cornered lake’ is fed by an underwater spring. It is believed by the locals that whoever sees all the nine corners of the lake at one shot, attains Nirvana. Pretty views of terraced fields and meadows make this lake destination an enjoyable stopover.
