Take care on this 6.4-kilometer circular trail near Manitou Springs, Colorado. It is generally regarded as a difficult route that takes an average of 3 h 14 min to finish and should only be tried by experienced adventurers. Because this is a popular hiking and walking region, you will most likely come across other people while exploring. This trail is best visited between May and October. Dogs are not permitted on this trail, so leave them at home.
The Incline Trail is the remnants of a Cog railway that once ran to the summit of Manitou Mountain. The trail gains around 2000 feet in a mile and has an average slope of 45%. Consider climbing a mile of tough, uneven stairs.
There are three exits, the last of which is about halfway up and will put you on Barr Trail. When you reach the summit, head south and trek or sprint back down Barr Trail (going down the Incline is not suggested).
The view of Colorado Springs from the top is well worth the effort. Arrive early enough to find parking and leave enough of time to reach the Incline's base.
