Eligibility
- Age: Iberia Airlines provides an Unaccompanied Minor service for children aged 5 to 11 years traveling alone. Children aged 12 to 17 can also use the service if requested by the parent or guardian.
- Flights: The service is available on both domestic and international flights. The service is not available on certain routes, so it is important to confirm availability when booking.
Fees
Cost: The Unaccompanied Minor service fee is approximately EUR 50 each way per child. This fee is in addition to the cost of the flight ticket and covers the supervision and assistance provided by Iberia staff.
Booking Process
- Reservations: The Unaccompanied Minor service must be booked by calling Iberia Airlines' customer service. It is recommended to book this service as early as possible to ensure availability.
- Required Information: Provide the names, addresses, and phone numbers of the person dropping off the child and the person picking them up at the destination when making the reservation.
Drop-Off and Pick-Up
- Check-In: The guardian dropping off the child must check in at the airport counter and accompany the child to the departure gate. The guardian must remain at the airport until the flight has taken off.
- Pick-Up: The designated person picking up the child must arrive at the airport early, present valid identification, and wait in the designated area. Only the person specified during the booking will be allowed to pick up the child.
In-Flight Experience
Supervision: Iberia Airlines staff will supervise the child during the flight, assist with boarding, seating, and deplaning, and ensure the child is comfortable throughout the journey.
Connections
Transfer Assistance: If the child’s trip includes a connection, Iberia staff will assist with the transfer and ensure the child boards the connecting flight safely.
Important Considerations
- Behavior: The child must be able to follow instructions from the crew and behave appropriately during the flight. Iberia Airlines reserves the right to refuse service if the child cannot travel alone.
- Documentation: Ensure the child has all necessary documentation, including a passport for international flights, visas if required, and contact information for the guardians.
